Calling Mulies
LOL thanks for the introduction open-sights (I think) For the most part open-sights is correct. I have called in a ton of Mulelys --5 of my 4x4 or better bucks were called in as close as 5 to 10 yards and as far as 250 yards most are shot at about 25 yards. Biggest called in buck to date is my 6x7. I haven't called whitetail much (don't really hunt them) but they definately don't like the call I use for Muley's the time or two I have watched them. A lot of my success is indeed the fact that I go where few others do and I know when and where to set up for calling. Antler ratting for Muley's combined with calling also works very well at the right time of year and it will certainly induce big bucks to ROAR which will send shivers down your spine for a week!! At one time I had three of them roaring at me and ended up taking a small buck (3x3) at about 15 feet.
For a better description of the way I hunt go to the LOUNGE section and click on Member Submitted stories -- got a couple of Muley stories there.
