I was up on a fishing trip to Star Lake near Gold River last week. That lake can sure be hit and miss when it comes to fishing by the way...
Anyways, one of the neighbors at the place I was staying, said that the Co's had killed or moved 14 bears in the last few weeks, right from the town limits. I don't know if he was exaggerating or not, but I did see one big mother of a blackie walking down the street about 60 yards away, when returning from a dart tournament at the local legion. It was garbage day the next morningy, and they seem to know the exact night to do a little scrounging. At least I'm glad they aren't grizzly's.
We didn't see the usual number of bears that we spot on the drive in to G.R. Maybe they were hiding in the shade, as it was a cooker that day.
