My 12 year old son inherited his granpa's .303 enfield sporter and will be hunting deer with me this fall. According to my load manuals 41 grains of imr4895/150gr. bullet would be a good low recoil load. However, I'd like to find an effective load using one of the 123 or 125 grain .311 bullets. Any opinions or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.

I have never used this load but the loads I have used from this site have worked well for me. Pay attention to the old adage, start low and work your way up.

you might have difficulty getting the light bullets to shoot well.

Good point. I asume that has to do with the rifling twist.

Correction. H-335 was the recommended powder for 123 grain.
