The SOLE reason Nosler brought out the E-Tip was to deal with the pending lead-bullet ban in California. As that state holds a huge market share it only makes sense they want to maintain their portion of it.

The current Barnes TSX is an excellent bullet but, and this is a huge but , it does not kill large animals any better than the Partition, or Accubond, or Interbond or A-Frame and Scirocco, Grand Slam, TBBC, etc.

Just because you have been useing a product for 40 years it does not make it better , 40 yrs ago it might have been the bee knees but bullets have evolved and gotten better across the board .

The partitions are no longer the standard in which bullets are measured by. Dont let stubborness and insecurity let you loose sight of the big picture when it comes to gaugeing performance .

Can you explain EXACTLY what these ...improvements...are AND how many big game animals YOU have shot or witnessed being shot with the new E-tip from Nosler? In short, are YOUR remarks based on ACTUAL field experience with the bullets that you are in favour of, OR, are they simply supposition?

I have used NPTs for OVER 40 years and my actual field experience in shooting and seeing game shot with them comes to roughly 150 animals, Elk, Moose, Deer, Grizzly and so forth. This is a "drop in the bucket"compared with a lot of guys my age, but, most of my wilderness experience was not involved with actual hunting. Nevertheless, guys with over 40 years of "hands-on" BC game shooting experience just "might" be worth listening to and Eagleye is one guy who DOES know his stuff.

I seriously DOUBT that SOME of the bullets Cariboo lists ARE equal to the TSX, at least the "Grand Slam" which I found to be a real pos, in my first .375H&H in the early '80s. I DO think that all of these bullets have their place, but, nothing I have ever loaded, shot or seen used on game is as widely useful on game as the NPs...and I have ammo/conponents from all over the world.

BTW, does anybody know where I can buy some 450 SAFs for my .458WM?

Mike, where did you FIND the E-tips, I have not seen any here in Vancity. I DID just find a few boxes of 286gr. Hornaday Sp. points in 9.3 cal., a new addition to their line that many will welcome as a lot of us are going to the 9.3 rounds.

One of the GOOD guys from the Campfire actually sent me some Nossie 286 Pts. from Oregon and I was REALLY touched that anyone would do this for a total stranger. So many great guys on that forum and it is too bad that a totally duplicitous and deceitful mod plus a few other phonies and guys with utterly false and contemptible personal agendas have lowered it's quality as we have recently seen.

Are you going to try E-tips in your other rifles, as well? I have been thinking of trying some in my .338WM Dakota and seeing what they will do. The hot loaded 250 NP Gold MFs I am using in it kinda BOOT an old guy like me in such a light rifle.

Just wondered, as a lot of stores down there can't ship bullets across the border anymore as there are BATF permits needed now. Something about bullets being "articles of war" and them not wanting terrorists to buy them and load them and use them against the US.

Pretty retarded rule considering the amount of lead that is shipped here..But if it save's one life than the hassle is worth it..
