Glad you found Huntshoot, Mike, I had thought that it had closed down and just re-logged on a week or so ago. Hopefully, this forum will grow and become the major meeting place for BC hunters. PM incoming.

Welcome, I'm new here too. I would assume you must shoot the STW? My son does to in a Remy Sendero. I'm just a lowly bowhunter. Any tips for some good loads. He killed his first bull Elk with it and I wasn't impressed with the Barnes 170 grain, went right through with little damage but it was still a dead elk. Any tips.

another new member here

I am not a Canandian, but I love those wild places in BC and Alberta that I have driven thru on the way to Alaska. My grandparents were Canadian, if that matters.
I have a lot of respect for the Canadian people for their work ethic, their military contributions, lack of arrogance. I would be honored to lurk here and leanr what I can.

Sorry I just saw your post..

I'm using a 150gr Nosler Part, Win brass with 77 grains of IMR 7828 and a CCI 250 primer.Never cronied that load so don't know the speed but it works well on moose deer ect.
The Barnes slug easily out-class's the Nosler bullet performance wise.imo. I would switch over to them but my rifle is a fussy bugger and would dread the load work up.

I am VERY glad to see you here and hope you will remain. If, everyone I have met on various hunting/gun related sites was the kind of gentleman I have known you to be, the world would be a far better place.

I think that you KNOW EXACTLY what is happening with respect to the "donnybrook" concerning GOs and misdeeds here in B.C. and realize that none of the anger felt by many Canucks as a result of this is directed at or has anything to do with you or other Americans like you.

I also think that you know me well enough to realize that I would never make a comment like that if I did not sincerely mean it.

7STW, ALL of the admittedly few 7STWs I have had anything to do with have been VERY fussy buggers and the nicest one would NOT shoot anything like it should have.

This was a genuine "Mountain Rifle" from the late Dana Campbell in Alaska, built on a sts Mod. 70 Classic action. My buddy bought it, unfired, from the chap who had it built and I loaded for him and it would NOT bloody shoot.

So, he sent it to Tim and Rod at Corelane and they put a Lilja bbl on it in .338RUM and NOW it shoots "bugholes".....the big 7 seems to be a rather tricky round to get to work like you want it to.

Welcome to the forum Royce. Please feel free to join in the conversations.

As Kute mentioned we seem to be having a troll migration from the USA - mainly Texas - most of whom seem determined to do nothing more constructive than support a convicted criminal.

Like most here I truly understand these idiots don't represent the average American and don't judge anyone by nationality.
