Some really good folk on the Campfire....But being a Yankee site it's pretty bias towards us Canucks...Also one mod there is the biggest idiot on the planet...He wins the Phonier than chitt award every year and is quite proud of it..

I know how easy it is for us as Canadians to get our backs up when it comes to our southern neighbors. But this issue needs to be addressed on the facts that a violation has occured and not that an american has done it. I believe that the guy with him was from alberta? Are you going to tell me that if you have a cousin in another province that the two of you could never hunt together? HELL NO!!! We need to focus on stiffer control and more harsh punishment for those that commit a violation especially for those that make thier living from our game. Crown land is for everyone to enjoy not just those that live here. The 24 site has its morons as you will find in every crowd wether here in BC, AB, Africa, NZ or the USA. To say we need to ban "all none residents" from hunting in BC is not practical and running around insulting the Yanks it is doing just what you are saying that 24 is doing to Canadians. Is that the person you want to be see as. You are right somthing needs to done about this but running around screaming Damn the Yanks is doing nothing but taking away from the topic.. Dont turn this into us against them but keep everyone against the violators. Remember when Zumbo made those statements about Black guns? Poeple called his sponsers and the networks that aired his show and he lost all of them. We need to follow suit and let it be known about what kind of integrity this guy has try and hit him in the wallet and the courts. Now this is just my .02

I deleted my last post on this, made this AM, as I decided that it was only a repetition of points that I and others, have already made. However, MY posts certainly DO NOT denigrate Americans, they ARE about WHO OWNS B.C. and the repeated violations made by Bryan Martin.

Somehow, you seem familiar to me and, as this is your initial post here, I will not respond further, except to say that it is a FACT that American and German owned-financed GO operations HAVE and ARE restricting resident hunter's access to and harvest of OUR game and this is NOT Martin's first violation. I AM NOT willing to overlook the gradual erosion of OUR hunting due to various problems and foreign ownership IS ONE of these, like it or not.

Do YOU honestly believe that ANYONE should be able to hunt here as they see fit?

Kute , if u quit posting on every hunting site that has a a$$ on it u might as sell your computer. 24 Hour has alot of good people on it from both sides of the border , i take it all with a grain of salt and find the spats mostly funny.Alot of good information from posters like Ed T helps a guy when your looking to upgrade your equipment , why allow a few of the jerks run u off ?

I believe that anyone who applies for a tag and is drawn deserves to hunt. Have you ever tried to get a grand slam on sheep? Do you think you can do it without heading south? Do you expect to or are you so narrow minded that you think that we can exsist in this world shut off from the rest of it. I have no connection to any of the GO operation nor would I hang around people of that type. If your only response is to try and jump on my back or if your looking for a verbal fight your looking in the wrong direction for I beleive your post have validity but I also think It is unrealistic to atempt to shut our borders wether to canadians or other countries. I wish you nothing but the best in what ever you do.

No I dont live in the states I travel and work alot in the South. The company I work for has locations throughout the US and Canada. So I know how much shit they can dish out about being Canadian but we are just as bad and even worse when ever I have co-workers up they take alot aswell. Why the question, does it change what I have said or stated?

I'm in dallas until thursday then I'll be in Kirkland Washington on Friday for two weeks returning to langley. Does that help any. Once again does that change anything? Have I made a statement to offend someone For if I did it was without intent. I agree that the fines in this case were very lite and needs to have more teeth as I previously stated I just dont agree that BC can or should shut its doors to every non resident. If you are a non resident and commit a crime then your right or ability or hunt or fish here should be revoked no questions asked..

There is a HUGE difference between someone discussing things and someone coming over from another site for no other reason to stir the pot. With that said nothing you have posted so far is out of line.

As you are new here and started posting at exactly the same time as Kute left 24 Hour I have concerns. As both your sign-up IP and current IP are from a USA only provider I get a little suspicious.

I do understand I'm on a laptop using wi-fi. But I also have not even checked out the 24 hour site. I'm not a kid that goes onto a site where GREAT info can be gleened and takes a post of importance and tries to hijack it. I just felt that this was a time to post a slightly different opinion without taking away from the gravity of the content. As you will see in any post I ever make I will not engage in Tit-for Tat or insults for it does nothing but waste time..

MHIV, No, I am NOT ...looking for a fight...and I am not someone whom you would wish to engage in that respect, in any event. I have been active in BC conservation since the early '60s, am a member of a pre-Confederation B.C. pioneer family and have worked in resource management extensively. In short, I have ...walked my talk... and am VERY familiar with exactly how the U.S.A. has treated Canada since my ancestors fought them in 1775-83 and 1812-14, here in Canada.

Perhaps YOUR business interests may blind you to the ENORMOUS imapct that the American refusal to honour the treaty they signed with respect to "softwood" has had on rural B.C., however, I just traveled through the Cariboo, Bulkley, Skeena and Fraser valleys to and from Rupert and I SAW the closed mills, restaurants and other businesses; remember, these are our "friends" and they BROKE their word to us.......

You are new to this site and thus some here will question your comments and location, as is only natural. This is not attempting to ...get on your back..., it is simply a cautionary proviso against "trolls" and, given the nature of the 'net, is to be welcomed, not worried about.

You either do not grasp what I am saying, or, are distorting it as I have NOT said that Canada should exist in isolation from all other nations, or, that "non-resident" hunters should not be allowed here. What I said was, I think that it may be time to stop all " non resident ALIEN" hunting here and, yes, that INCLUDES Americans.

They DO NOT HAVE ANY particular status here and the Martin affair is only one of MANY such incidents over the years; I see NO reason to allow them to kill our Stone's Sheep, for example, when residents are prevented from doing so by their political lobbying and exclusive contracts with charter air carriers, who use CROWN airstrips to carry on business.

I have no interest in "Grand Slams", however, this is not relevant to the topic at hand. Very simply, NO foreign investment, control, influence or involvement in BC resource harvesting-management is my philosophy and NO American's killing game here when guided by other American's with GO concessions in B.C., ESPECIALLY when we who OWN B.C. must deal with L.E.H. for OUR game!

Bryan Martin IS going to be out of business, I have had enough of scumbags like him coming here to grab what is mine by birthright. I ALSO am prepared to deal with the threats made on the Campfire and I think that you will find that a MAJORITY of B.C. resident hunters feel very much the same way. This does not refer to other CANADIANS who SHOULD be allowed to hunt in B.C. as we are in their provinces. Hope this clarifies things for you.
