As for your coments you talk as if I dont have to deal with the same leh issue as you or goverment politics you speak of treaties and the lack of adhearance buy Goverments not individuals. I comend you on your family heritage and the history they have in BC. As for putting the guide out of business that should have already been done. I personaly hunt all over Canada and the US, NZ and I'm looking forward to hunting in Africa and I can tell you that I would be PISSED OFF BEYOND BELEIF if somebody told me that I could not hunt there because I was a Canadian. So for someone as your self who has no intent of ever hunting outside of Canada your statement are VERY justified and founded but for those Canadians who wish to hunt in other countries it seems alittle extreem. ONCE AGAIN I DO SEE YOUR POINT AND I AM NOT LOOKING FOR A PISSING MATCH. But I do not agree with everything you are stating about Alien hunters

Fair enough, no offence taken or intended by me. I am NOT YET totally opposed or in favour of "non.-res alien" hunting here in B.C., I DO largely support the B.C.W.F. position on GOs, non.-res. privileges and residents rights.

The system as it now stands, MUST be changed and scum Like Bryan Martin kicked OUT of BC-Canada. This WILL happen, because an increasing number of BCers, both hunters and non, want it to and the government will eventually come onside.

BC people and our fellow Canucks come FIRST, end of story.

Has anyone here contacted the MOE concerning Martin, his various offences and the fact that foreigners have such influence over OUR resource harvesting? We CANNOT expect to preserve our hunting and gun ownership if we do not individually and collectively act to stop this travesty and do it now.

I am trying to contact F&W brass with the intent of telling them that I, for one, have had enough of this crap and it is time to ban situations like this. I am also trying to see if I can interest one of " The Vancouver Sun's" journalists in doing an in-depth story on the entire foreign hunting-guiding situation here and perhaps arouse public opinion on this issue.

Very simply, are we going to worry about some Yank being POed at us, or, are we going to DEMAND that OUR wildife-hunting and access be protected? I am so tired of this type of situation and the typical American response to our anger at it, that I am about ready to start a campaign to ban ALL resource use in BC, by Americans or any other foreigners.

I'm one of those Yanks that came over from 24hour but I'm here to let you all know that I sincerely appreciated Kute's help planning this fall's goat hunt. I had contacted Atcheson & Sons and they provide Byran Martin's name as one to consider for hunting goats. Kute, very politely I may say, informed me that Bryan Martin had been cited a second time for game violations. I informed Atchenson about the alledged violation (I didn't verify the information) and informed Atchenson I wouldn't be using their service because of their recommendation of a criminal. Atchenson wrote back and informed me this was the first they heard of the citation, so I forwarded a link to the 24hour chat - if they read it they got an ear full.

I have booked a hunt with Marty Lightburn and am looking forward to visiting BC where I will be a guest in your country. I consider it a privilege to hunt in Canada and hope to be able to hunt there again in the near future.

Kute, thank you sir for your help. I can only hope some day you'll let me return the favor.

Further to this, as it goes on ( and it WILL take time ), last night I received a rather brusque e-mail from the GOABC, which informed me that Martin is not a member thereof....which I knew already.

HOWEVER, his company, Canadian Mountain Outfitters IS a member under the licencee, Dawson Deveny, from an American family, as well. SO, it seems to me that the GOABC is being a bit duplicitous here and trying to look like they have nothing to do with Martin, yet, HE OWNS a company recently listed on THEIR website as a member and the technicality about exactly which CMO employee is listed as a GOBC member is pretty sketchy, IMHO.......


This morning I received a PM here concerning this and while I will not post the contents here, I will say that the fight is NOT with legitimate BRITISH COLUMBIANS in the hunting industry, it IS with Martin and all the other foreigners involved in it. I want to see an end to this situation and am continuing to do what I can to bring this about; I hope others will also act as we ARE losing our hunting.

I suggest checking Martin's website and noting the references to No resident hunting pressure, etc.......that tells me something and I hope people here will see what is happening. There ARE other instances of unacceptable behaviour and effective prevention of res. access by GOs, but, one at a time.

I just started reading this thread.

My biggest question is. Why is it with either fish stocks or wildlife stocks our friends down south (many of who are customers and friends of mine being a lumber broker I am all to familiar with American trade policies) have totaly destroyed and mis managed there own resources and then either because they have nothing left to hunt or fish they want to come and take as much of our delicate resources as they can. Honestly If I was a U.S. citizen i would be embarsed talking the way they are about our resources when they have totally ruined there own!!

Maybe you fine individulas down south should conentrate your energy on restoring your own fish and wildlife stocks in your own country. Once you have something worth tallking about down there we might be interested in your opinion up here in Canada!!!!!!!!!!

The Guide Outfitters Association of British Columbia sent me a letter that Mr Martin had sent them in regards to the multiple charges that he has been proven guilty on. He went into detailing each situation and why it wasnt his fault these things happened.

All he had for an excuse was ignorance. Had a reason why he did those things and again saying it was because of this, or because of that. We have given him the honor to guide and outfitt in BC and the bottom line he has broken the law, period, Mr Martin we do not want to hear your excuses. As a business owner you should have known the LAW and obeyed and honored them!

Ignorance is a lack of knowledge, or a willful lack of desire to improve the efficiency, merit, effectiveness or usefulness of one's actions. Mr Martin should not be allowed to make money in Canada in regards to hunting PEPRIOD!!
